A few years ago, we commissioned a firm of consultants to carry out a Marketing Survey to try and establish what the ideal agency would be from both the Client’s and Candidate’s viewpoints. They then asked now NJA measured up to these ideals. Whilst perfection on all counts is difficult to achieve, however hard we try, I felt the responses were interesting.
The following are the exact words from the report we received:

“Clients’ views on what an ideal agency would offer and how it should behave.

The ideal recruitment agency:
• Is aware of the trends in the IT market place
• Has a good knowledge of the client company
• Understands the technical aspects – being able to offer alternative candidate experience solutions
• Offers good calibre candidates who are well presented on paper, having been interviewed by the agency and who have been briefed on the job for which they are to be interviewed
• Should be proactive but not a nuisance
• Have a stability in staff in order to form a good working relationship
• Charge reasonable fees and be willing to negotiate.

Clients’ comments specific to NJA:

Although all agencies are seen as much of a muchness, however, positive comments were made by clients on the service they had received from NJA.
• Quick response
• Efficient
• Good relationship with Consultant – keep in touch but not pushy
• Interview candidates (and make good notes) and give the candidate good details of the company and job
• NJA come up with the right calibre of staff.
These comments were spontaneous and were more positive than any given for any other agency”

NJA establish presence in Cardiff Bay and seek Partners

We are very excited about having now established a presence in Cardiff Bay – at The Maltings – and we have completed the design and implementation of our marketing material – website, ebrochure etc – which we hope is seen to be attractive and informative.
The next stage is to build up our knowledge of potential client companies in South Wales and to introduce ourselves to them, and this now underway. We are very much looking forward to meeting recruiting companies and having an opportunity to explain our unique style of working – a very personal approach based on many years’ experience.
To take the business forward we shall need to recruit some like minded consultants to join us on this exciting journey. The job description below outlines what we are looking for and what we have to offer. I realise that the combination of skills, attitudes and experience required to do the job will be hard to find, nevertheless we will be patient since we are confident of meeting some suitable individuals in the end.
Senior Recruitment Consultant/Partner/Entrepreneur
Neville John Associates is an old established specialist IT recruitment consultancy. I am seeking two mature consultants to help me grow the business and to share in the wealth of the company we create. Therefore I am looking for some very special people who are consistent fee earners in the IT or related fields – people who have often pondered the possibility of working for themselves, but for whom the time or circumstances have not been right.

Our approach is different – it is very personal, focused and very effective. I can promise you that you will see the difference if you work with us – either as a recruiting company or as an individual seeking a new career opportunity.

Our activities – both business and domestic – are proceeding in line with our plans to open for business in Cardiff in 2012, and I will report here from time to time on how we are getting on.
